Jammu and Kashmir is in history, again!

In the middle of unrest and uncertainty across the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home minister had today tabled the resolutions to revoke the Articles 370 and 35A from the Indian constitution, which pictures the new shape of the state without falling under the special status which the state used to enjoy since the independence.

Speaking in the upper house today morning, he also stated that the state will be bifurcated into two new union territories- Jammu and Kashmir will be named as one of new union territories with legislative assembly while Ladakh will constitute its map as other new union territory without the legislature.

Ahead to this announcement from the Central government, Jammu and Kashmir will again named in the books of history in becoming third union territory in India to have legislature and legislative assembly.

Unlike the state governments which have unique and separate legislative assemblies which formulates legislatures within its border of jurisdiction, the union territories won't fall under the stance of constituting legislative assemblies and will be solemnly governed by Lieutenant governors appointed by the President of the republic.

India maps only two union territories with having the presence of legislative assembly- Delhi and Puducherry which has also been governed by the Lieutenant governors who have more power and entitlements than the state government.

The newly born Jammu and Kashmir union territory will join its journey along with its two elder companions while the rest of the Union territories like Andaman and Nicobar islands, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Diu and Daman and Lakshadeep islands doesn't constitute legislative assembly governance in their territories where all these non legislative union territories will have to take on board the new born territory of Ladakh.
