The much-anticipated Rajinikanth's 169th movie 'Jailer' begins its shooting on Monday - August 22 and the official update that everyone was waiting for in this regard was dropped by the makers on Monday. The movie, which is being directed by Nelson Dilipkumar has given the title in June. The stirring flick,  "Jailer," starring Rajinikanth, is absolutely massive as fans couldn't keep calm, resulting in firing up the internet.

It was already hinted by the music composer of this most awaited flick, Anirudh Ravichander when he shared that the shooting was to begin on Monday as he took to Twitter and released a poster that said: "Jailer varaaru". As fans were excitedly counting on the update, Sun Pictures, which is bankrolling the movie, has released a poster that swiftly turned heads. 

Taking to Twitter on Monday, the makers unveiled the poster of Jailer in which Superstar Rajinikanth can be seen sporting a dapper, but his menacing appearance and his alluring eyes will undoubtedly send chills down the fans and captioning the poster, Sun Pictures wrote "#Jailer begins his action Today!" Earlier, the title and first look poster of filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar’s next with Superstar Rajinikanth was unveiled on June 17.

The film in which Superstar collaborated with director Nelson Dilipkumar for the first time was formally announced in February. Today in Chennai, the main portion of the film's production got underway. According to sources, the first few days of filming will take place on a police station set that has been built in a fictional city.

The shooting will also be done in Hyderabad and while Rajinikanth plays the lead role, the reports say that Sandalwood star Shivarajkumar is touted to play the antagonist in Jailer. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play a crucial role and Yogi Babu will also share the screen with the superstar. If all go well as per the schedule, Jailer will hit the theatres in Summer 2023. 

On Sunday, there were rumours circulating in the industry that a test shoot was taking place on the set and that actors were seen carrying knives and daggers for their roles. The majority of the scenes for "Jailer" are scheduled to be filmed in Chennai and Hyderabad, which both have renowned hotels and eateries. The Superstar is to be fashioned for this movie by renowned stylist Aalim Hakim, who worked for prominent stars in the Bollywood industry.
