Fans are ready and anticipating with bated breath for the Superstar's action avatar in Jailer. The one and only superstar Rajinikanth is back with a bang in his 169th film, Jailer, directed by Nelson and produced by Sun Pictures. The trailer of the film will be unveiled today at 6 pm and fans are vibing for the big update in social media. The anticipation is sky-high for this mass entertainer that promises to be a treat for Thalaivar fans.
SunPictures, bankrolling the flick took to Twitter and dropped the big bombshell update, writing, "The D-Day is here Get set to witness #JailerShowcase today at 6 PM". Jailer is the story of Muthuvel Pandian, a strict yet compassionate jailer who learns that a gang is trying to rescue their leader from the prison, where he sets out to stop them.
Rajinikanth will be seen in a stylish avatar as Muthuvel Pandian, and the film also boasts of an ensemble cast, including Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, Sunil, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogibabu and Vinayakan. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal will also make a cameo appearance as Mathew.
The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander, who has already delivered a rocking theme song for Jailer Muthuvel Pandian. The cinematography is by Vijay Kartik Kannan and the editing is by R. Nirmal. The film is slated to release on 10 August 2023.
Jailer is Rajinikanth’s first collaboration with Nelson, who has previously directed hit films like Doctor (2021) and Beast (2022). Nelson is known for his quirky and humorous style of filmmaking, which is expected to blend well with Rajinikanth’s charisma and screen presence. Jailer is also the debut film of Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar in Tamil cinema, who will be seen as Narasimha, the antagonist.
