It's official! Makers of Aishwarya Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam drop the film's release date

The wait is over as Superstar Rajinikanth, who is all set to dazzle the silver screen with his latest venture, Lal Salaam. The film, directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth, is a sports drama that revolves around the lives of two aspiring cricketers and their mentor, Moideen Bhai, played by Rajinikanth himself.

Lyca Productions, the makers of the film, announced the release date of Lal Salaam on X, saying, “Namma THER THIRUVIZHA’ku Alappara kelappa neram vandhachu! LAL SALAAM  hits the big screen on February 9th 2024! Save the date!” The film is expected to be a blockbuster, as it marks the return of Rajinikanth to the big screen after Jailer, which was released last year.

The makers also unleashed the Lal Salaam video, starring none other than the legendary Superstar Rajinikanth, donning the formidable avatar of Moideen Bhai. The promotional clip is a visual feast, an exclusive showcase of the maverick star, where Rajinikanth effortlessly plunges into stunning action sequence, capturing the essence of Moideen Bhai's character.

The film also boasts of a stellar cast, including Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth as the two cricketers, Ananthika Sanilkumar, Vivek Prasanna, Thangadurai as their supporting characters, Nirosha as Moideen’s wife, and Jeevitha Rajashekar as Moideen’s sister. The film also has a surprise guest appearance by none other than the legendary cricketer Kapil Dev, who will add a new dimension to the story.

The film’s teaser, which was released earlier, showed Rajinikanth in his trademark style, delivering punch dialogues and performing breathtaking stunts. The film promises to be a visual treat for the fans, as it showcases the cricketing action and the emotional journey of the characters. The film’s cinematography is done by Vishnu Rangasamy, while the editing is handled by B Pravin Baaskar.

Lal Salaam is a film that celebrates the spirit of cricket and the bond between a mentor and his protégés. It is also a tribute to Rajinikanth’s charisma and versatility, as he plays a role that is different from his usual image. The film is slated to release on February 9th 2024, and is expected to create a new record at the box office.
