The first look poster of ‘Vedaa’, the Hindi remake of the 2015 Tamil action film ‘Vedalam’, was unveiled today, creating a buzz among the fans of John Abraham, who plays the lead role. The poster features John Abraham in a rugged look, protecting Sharvari Wagh, who plays his sister in the film. Tamannaah Bhatia also stars as the female lead, reprising the role of Shruti Haasan from the original.
‘Vedaa’ is directed by Nikkhil Advani, who has previously helmed films like ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, ‘D-Day’ and ‘Batla House’. The film is produced by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment and JA Entertainment, and is slated to release on 12th July 2024.
‘Vedalam’ was a huge hit at the box office, earning over ₹120 crore. The film starred Ajith Kumar and Lakshmi Menon as siblings, who move to Kolkata and get involved in a conflict with a crime syndicate. The film was praised for its action sequences, music by Anirudh Ravichander, and Ajith’s performance as a dual character. The film was also remade in Bengali as ‘Sultan: The Saviour’ in 2018 and in Telugu as ‘Bhola Shankar’ in 2023.
‘Vedaa’ promises to be an exciting and thrilling ride for the audience, who can expect to see John Abraham in a never-seen-before avatar. The actor, who is known for his action roles, has reportedly undergone intense training and preparation for the film. He will also be seen performing some high-octane stunts and fight scenes, which are expected to be the highlight of the film.
