With it's new plan, TN BJP troubles ADMK ahead of the assembly polls!

As the state of Tamil Nadu is fast-approaching the legislative elections that would be held during April-May 2021, the political parties have been preparing to hit the campaign trail and to take on the rivals. With the fact that the political fight would be directly between the ruling ADMK and the opposition DMK, both the Dravidian parties have been chalking out the strategies to win the race to take over the reign.

At the high time when both the Dravidian parties are fixing and gluing up the alliance with the allied party leaders, the ruling ADMK has now troubled by the BJP as the Central ruling party had irked the state ruling leaders over its new plan to have a strong campaign ahead of the elections. BJP has been observing alliance with the ADMK since the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and now, in a bid to take its new campaign across the state, the BJP has been using the face of ADMK's founder and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MG Ramachandran (MGR).

The Tamil Nadu BJP unit has been framing its new campaign under the tagline of 'Vetrivel Yatra' which would be launched on November 6. The campaign would be a month-long public outreach programme and the state unit will start the campaign in Tiruttani on November 6 and will end the programme in Tiruchendur on December 6. During the timeline of the campaign, the party would be covering six abodes (Aarupadai Veedu) of Lord Murugan in Tamil Nadu.

The party would be launching the campaign in a bid to cover Hindu votes and in a bid to showcase that the party has been emerging as the power in place of the Dravidian strongholds. During the campaign timeline, several senior leaders of the party would be traveling across the state. The senior party leader said that during the campaign, they will offer prayers to Lord Murugan and seek his blessings to get succeed in the elections.

The reports stated that Murugan would also be meeting the party members and supporters in all the districts and the party functionaries have been asked to hold a grand reception for the campaign. As the state party prepares for the campaign, it has now released a teaser for the campaign. The teaser that lasts for a three-and-a-half-minute has been getting widely spread across social media.

In the teaser about the 'Vetrivel Yatra', the Tamil Nadu BJP unit had used the face of MGR in support of its campaign, which had stirred major debate and flak from the state ruling ADMK despite being in the alliance for more than a year. However, the BJP had said that the party celebrates the Dravidian leader for his service to the people. In the teaser, a photograph of MGR with his signature smile was put up against the backdrop of the party's symbol 'Lotus'.

The ADMK stalwart's photograph appears in a flash while the background narrator comparing MGR and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the popularity. Speaking about the teaser, Tamil Nadu BJP President L Murugan said that Narendra Modi follows the path of MGR and the former has been doing good for people like how the latter did under his leadership, and both the leaders remain popular among women.

Murugan said that the party will be promoting the teaser widely in the upcoming days and the Union Ministers and national leaders would be taking part in the month-long campaign in Tamil Nadu. According to reports, the Tamil Nadu BJP has been using MGR's photo and fame to its support and it has come weeks after the miscreants had dishonored the MGR's statue in Tamil Nadu by wrapping saffron shawls around the statue.

Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami has strongly condemned the act and claimed that it was shameful and barbaric. The Tamil Nadu BJP unit has now been geared up with the campaign by using MGR's photograph which had troubled the ruling ADMK. As the development had shocked the ADMK, the state ruling party had voiced against the Central ruling BJP. Speaking to the reporters, Tamil Nadu Minister and senior ADMK leader Jayakumar, who is the mouthpiece of the Chief Minister, said that MGR belongs to ADMK and he is the founding leader of the party and he urged the BJP to make use of its own leaders for its campaigns.
