Finally, the year-long speculations have come to close after Tamil Nadu got a confirmation that Udhayanidhi Stalin will become a minister and join the state cabinet led by his father and Chief Minister MK Stalin. Udhayanidhi's ministerial venture has been in talks ever since he became a DMK MLA from the party's stronghold Chepauk-Triplicane constituency in Chennai. 

After episodes of talks and debates, it has now become official that Udhayanidhi Stalin will become a Tamil Nadu Minister and as we reported earlier, he will be taking oath as the cabinet minister on December 14. As Tamil Nadu Governor's office 'Raj Bhavan' has made the announcement officially, the stage is set for Udhayanidhi's political elevation and he has been surfaced with wishes from the DMK cadres. 

In an official press release issued on Monday - December 12, the Raj Bhavan has said, "The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has recommended to the Hon'ble Governor of Tamil Nadu to induct Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin, Chepauk-Triplicane Assembly Constituency (No 19), in the Council of Ministers. The Hon'ble Governor has approved the recommendation. The Swearing-in-Ceremony will be held on 14th December 2022 at 9.30 AM at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Chennai -22."

The press release has been going viral and along with inducting his son into the cabinet, MK Stalin is all set to roll out a major cabinet reshuffle for the first time since coming to power. The Chief Minister is expected to make some changes in his cabinet and on the front of what portfolio would be awarded to Udhayanidhi, our sources say that he will become the Minister of Special Programme Implementation along with handling Youth Welfare and Sports Development. 

Udhayanidhi Stalin is currently serving as the Secretary of DMK's Youth wing and earlier, MK Stalin has given his nod to advance his son's political venture by appointing him as a minister and our sources say there were several rounds of discussions held within MK Stalin's close circle including his family on the finally date and portfolio for the actor-turned-politician to become a minister. 

As it was reported that Udhayanidhi Stalin will get something big from his father MK Stalin, the former will be given the powerful portfolio of special programme implementation. This Special Programme Implementation comes under the direct purview of Chief Minister MK Stalin and most importantly, this portfolio oversees the implementation of special programme and promises made by MK Stalin at all levels, which means that Udhayanidhi can enjoy the control of these programmes implemented by all departments and ministries.  

Several reports divulge that this portfolio was the first choice of MK Stalin's family and it was decided keeping in mind that Udhayanidhi can discharge his powers across all the ministries. It has been said that the portfolio of Special Programme Implementation is so close to MK Stalin and as his son is going to pitch in as a minister for the first time, he has decided to award this big role to Udhayanidhi. 

Along with Special Programme Implementation, Udhayanidhi would also be handling the Youth Welfare and Sports Development through which he can have a good connect with the young people across the state at a high time when the DMK government is planning to develop the sports ecosystem.
