'It's already late and I am expecting whether this will happen': Senior DMK Minister on Udhayanidhi's new job!

DMK MLA and the party's youth wing secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin is hours ahead of pursuing a ministerial venture that will significantly widen his political journey. Udhayanidhi Stalin will be setting a historical record by becoming a minister in his first term as an MLA. The stage is set for his political elevation and amidst the arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony, a senior minister has said that Udhayanidhi should have been made a minister earlier. 

Speaking to the reporters in Chennai, Tamil Nadu Minister for Higher Education K Ponmudy said that Udhayanidhi's ministerial venture is already late and that he expects him that he will become Deputy Chief Minister. Ponmudy said, "I would say that it's already late that Udhayanidhi will be appointed a minister. The accusation of heir politics isn't new as it was there when MK Stalin came to power. The heir politics is in every political party and there's nothing wrong in it." 

"Appointing Udhayanidhi as a minister was a collective decision. We will work with him and he will work with us", Ponmudy added. While responding to a question about his son and DMK MP Gautam Sigamani's remarks that Udhayanidhi will become the Deputy Chief Minister, Ponmudy said, "I am expecting like you on whether he will become the Deputy Chief Minister."

Udhayanidhi Stalin will be swearing-in as a minister on December 14 and the oath will be administered by Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi. On Monday- December 12, the Governor's office Raj Bhavan has confirmed that MK Stalin's recommendation to induct Udhayanidhi in the cabinet has been accepted by the Governor and the oath taking ceremony will be held at Raj Bhavan.  

In an official press release issued on Monday, the Raj Bhavan has said, "The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has recommended to the Hon'ble Governor of Tamil Nadu to induct Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin, Chepauk-Triplicane Assembly Constituency (No 19), in the Council of Ministers. The Hon'ble Governor has approved the recommendation. The Swearing-in-Ceremony will be held on 14th December 2022 at 9.30 AM at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Chennai -22."

The Chief Minister is expected to make some changes in his cabinet and on the front of what portfolio would be awarded to Udhayanidhi, our sources say that he will become the Minister of Special Programme Implementation along with handling Youth Welfare and Sports Development. As Udhayanidhi is going to become a minister, he has been surfaced with wishes and greetings from DMK leaders and cadres as he is all set to begin a new chapter in politics. It has been reported that around 400 people will be participating in the swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday.
