Senior BJP leader CT Ravi, who is the in charge of the Tamil Nadu BJP, has on Tuesday hit out at the ruling MK Stalin regime for its decision of releasing the life convicts and called the decision as very dangerous not only for Tamil Nadu, but for India. He was addressing a press meet in Trichy following the party's meet.

During his address, CT Ravi has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi hadn't faced any corruption charges for the past twenty years and he has been working efficiently. Ravi said, "The Prime Minister has been driving the nation towards development. However, DMK has always against of the Union government. The BJP government has implemented several welfare schemes in Tamil Nadu."

Ravi noted, "As far as NEET exam is concerned, the students in the rural areas had clear the exam in 2020. However, they (DMK) are always slamming the Union government for NEET. We (BJP) are ready to face the local body polls and we have been taking efforts to strengthening the party. BJP's Central leadership will decide on the alliance for the polls." He added,"DMK's decision of releasing 700 life convicts is very dangerous not only for Tamil Nadu, but for India." 

Recently, the Tamil Nadu government has decided to release 700 life convicts on September 15 to mark the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister CN Annadurai. Making the announcement in the assembly, Chief Minister MK Stalin has said that the convicts, who have been serving incarceration for several years, would be released on humanitarian grounds.
