As the CSK has conceded the fact that it's out of the current season of the IPL without entering the playoffs, the fans have been bracing up for the unprecedented disappointment after the team has been piled up with the worst records in the IPL history. The current state of the team was cooked with the ingredients of the worst batting line-up, flawed performances, and lack of tendency to fix the damages.

The ardent fans of MS Dhoni could have seen a smile on his face with a deep pain inside him as the season had become a nightmare for the team. Speaking at the post-match presentation after accepting the fact that the team is out of the season, the CSK skipper said, "Even when you are hurting you put a smile on your face so that the management doesn't look like they are in panic". 

He stated "That is what the youngsters want and I feel the boys have done that. We have kept the dressing room like that and hopefully, we can turn it around in the next three games at least for pride. Whenever we did not get off to a good start it kept getting difficult for the middle order". "In cricket when you are going through a tough phase, you need a bit of luck to go your way. But in this tournament, it hasn't really gone our way", he added, signaling what the team had missed in the current season.

The captain said, "When you put out a playing eleven and judge whether they have done well to justify their stats on paper on the field, I feel this year we have not done that". He further added that "Whenever you aren't doing well, there can be a hundred reasons. One of the main things you ask yourself is whether you are playing to your potential".

Echoing the captain, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming said, "We were pretty stunned really. It was a terrible powerplay. To lose wickets so quickly, so frequently, the game was almost over in the powerplay. Obviously, we had a couple of young guys who had an opportunity we didn't work out. So the message during the time out was to have some runs on the board to give us half a chance in the game as our bowling was strong due to overseas players". 

Fleming stated "The pitches are becoming a little more difficult at times and our opening stands have been a little bit of mix. So the plan was to be positive and the reason why Ruturaj Gaikwad was there because we wanted to introduce to have some balance. Our spin bowling has a little bit ineffective so when you have one of the T20 spinners we were keen to play him but we had a poor batting display and it sums up our tournament. Everything we have tried has been the opposite".

CSK has become the first team to exit the season after conceding eight defeats including two times hat-trick defeats. It's all over for CSK as the team has been ousted from entering the playoffs of the current season with these worst and unprecedented records - It's the first time for the CSK in the eleven IPL seasons that the team would be exiting the season without entering the playoffs. 

It's the first time that the CSK that team has been pushed to the bottom of the table and it's the first time that CSK had lost a match by ten wickets in 11 IPL seasons. It's the first time that the CSK had conceded many defeats than any other teams in its IPL history and it's also the first time that the team had recorded the worst batting line-up and it's also the first time that the team had recorded two times hat-trick defeats in one season and worryingly, it's also the first time that Dhoni's gameplans had met with failure.
