The success of Ajith's Thunivu at the box office around the world has set social media ablaze. Within just five days, H.Vinoth's actioner surpassed the Rs 100 crore mark. The film competed with Thalapathy Vijay's, Varisu on the theatrical debut. After the first weekend in India, both films have broken the Rs 100 crore mark. The film's plot and Ajith's long-awaited villainous turn have garnered stellar reviews.
The director Ponram, whose films include Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam, Rajinimurugan, Seemaraja, and the recently released DSP starring Vijay Sethupathy, has recently added his voice to the chorus of admirers. He took to Twitter on Tuesday and wrote in Tamil, "Thunivu is superb Ajithkumar sir's performance is on another level. H. Vinoth scam concept super. It is an awareness film for people. Greetings"
Thunivu is a bank robbery thriller starring Ajith and Manju Warrier. Ghibran wrote the film's music, Thunivu is bankrolled by Boney Kapoor under his banner Bayview Projects and it is the third consecutive movie that Ajith is working with Boney Kapoor and director H Vinoth. Netflix has acquired the streaming rights of Thunivu and Kalaignar TV has purchased the satellite rights, where Nirav Shah and Vijay Velukutty have done cinematography and editing respectively.
The film released on 11th January 2023. Manju Warrier, Mohana Sundaram, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, and Veera have played crucial roles in the film. The actor will be joining next with renowned filmmaker Vignesh Shivan for the tentatively titled AK62. Reports say Arvind Swamy has got roped in to play the lead antagonist, and Santhanam and Arjun Das will also be added in the cast.
