Sunrisers Hyderabad, which has been emerging tough against the opponents, has been endured to brace up a new challenge in its bowling line-up as team's pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out from the series as the sequel of a hip injury which he suffered while the team was playing against the Chennai Super Kings on Friday at the Dubai International Stadium.
In what has become a shocking development as Kumar had controlled and pillared the bowling line-up of the team, he will not be playing the rest of the matches in the series, pushing the SRH to fill the vacuum with the right replacement. When he was bowling one of the death overs against the CSK, he developed sudden injury leaving him to opt for a retired-hurt and stepped out of the ground.
As he is still suffering the injury, ANI had reported that he won't be able to participate in the rest of the tournament. It was a big blow for the team as Bhuvneshwar Kumar is someone who leads the bowling unit and he has been an integral part of the leadership group on the ground.
While speaking about Kumar's health condition, SRH's captain David Warner said that he is not too sure and he can answer the question when they had got more information from the treating physicians. Initially, Warner said that Kumar would be out for two matches as the injury didn't look too serious. However, it has now been official that Kumar will be ruled out of the tournament.
According to reports, the decision has been taken with the view of the upcoming ODI series against Australia. As he has been one of the significant and much-needed bowlers for Team India, he has been ruled out from the IPL. India would be playing a full series against Australia in December and the pack would be of four test matches, followed by an ODI series.
SRH had played five matches so far and won two of them and currently stands at the seventh spot of the 8-team points table. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been one of the top bowlers in the current season and he had played four games and took three wickets with an economy rate of less than 7. Kumar was the 2-time Purple Cap Winner, which would be awarded for the highest wicket-takers in the entire season.
Some reports say that the SRH would possibly be considering to induct Vinay Kumar, Yusuf Pathan, and Rohan Kadam to replace Bhuvneshwar Kumar as the Orange Army has been ought to face the fresh challenge in sailing the rest of the matches in the absence of Bhuveshwar Kumar.
