Tamil Nadu BJP unit is in an imperativeness to have a political breather after a storm of turmoil and tensions that made the Central leadership unhappy about the state unit's run on an already stumbling track. From the controversial audio gate, abrupt suspensions, step down of leaders, to the recent friction over state BJP president Annamalai's lavish watch, the state unit is in full of setbacks. 

Under the leadership of Annamalai, the Tamil Nadu BJP unit is taking erractic turns with the overt display of politicizing several events. Under the guise of attacking the DMK government, the BJP has politicized a bunch of events including Coimbatore cylinder blast, alleged security lapse of PM Modi during Chess Olympiad, and attack on state finance minister PTR Palanivel Thiaga Rajan. Moreover, Annamalai's conduct against the journalists had also shed bad light on the party.

The Tamil Nadu BJP has also been witnessing an intra-party furore with several senior leaders turning against Annamalai's leadership and as the party is garnering more controversies like never before under the leadership of Annamalai, the party's central leadership is angered about the state unit's performance and as senior leaders expressed displeasure against the state's leadership, it was reported that Annamalai had received a warning from Delhi at a high time when the central leaders vying to defeat the DMK in the upcoming polls.

Recently, suspended BJP leader Gayathri Raghuram had also voiced against Annamalai over his contentious style of leadership and it was reported that Annamalai's equation with seniors is fragile and that he is apparently sidelining the veterans. To deal with such uprising of setbacks and to mitigate the dissents against his leadership, our sources say that Annamalai is planning to have a political breather through stirring a divide within the rival. 

According to sources, the Tamil Nadu BJP is working out to bowl out the Congress party's numbers in the assembly. A sitting Congress MLA is in talks with the BJP and a big trade is being held behind the screens. By reducing the strength of Congress in the assembly and inducting a Congress MLA into the party, Annamalai and his faction are planning to reduce displeasure from the central leadership. 

Annamalai can also save his seat by welcoming a Congress MLA into the party. Our sources say that the BJP is making use of the political crisis in the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee to accomplish its mission. It has been reported that the sitting Congress MLA will officially join the BJP in a few days and would a given a state-wide post and that the MLA would be given an assignment of bringing more Congress cadres into the party.
