India is doing better in COVID-19 fight due to the right decisions - PM Modi! What more he said?

In the albeit of peaking COVID-19 cases in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asserted that the country has been at a much better position while comparing to the rest of countries in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. 

His assertion and claim have come at a high time when India has been witnessing an exponential rise of COVID-19 and at the world stage, India is the third worst-hit country by the viral infection after the United States and Brazil. While speaking after virtually launching COVID-19 testing facilities in Noida, Mumbai, and Kolkata, the Prime Minister said that the country has been enhancing and expanding its health infrastructure. 

He stated that India has arrived at a position where it won't lack awareness and the country's resources are increasing. The Prime Minister has attributed the country's better position to the right decisions taken by the government at the right time. In his address, Modi said that due to the right decisions taken at the right time, India is a much better position than other countries in combating the virus spread. 

The Prime Minister highlighted that the country's health infrastructure has been enhancing at the fastening pace, from the testing labs, COVID-19 medical facilities, to the personal protection equipment. He further stated that the COVID-19 deaths in India are much lower compared to many big countries. 

Modi outlined that the country has 1,300 testing labs currently against one COVID-19 testing center in January and added that three new facilities established in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and West Bengal will give more strength to these three states in combating the spread of COVID-19. 

According to the Prime Minister's Office, these three facilities are capable of testing 10,000 samples in a day and these facilities will also reduce the turnaround time and exposure of lab personnel to infectious clinical materials. These labs are equipped to carry out testing the diseases other than COVID-19 and will be able to test HIV, Dengue, Neisseria, Hepatitis B and C, Mycobacterium Tuberculosis post COVID-19. 

According to the reports, these three augmented testing facilities have been installed at the ICMR Institutions - National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research in Noida, National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health in Mumbai, and National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases in Kolkata. 

According to the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 14,35,453 cases so far as of Monday morning 8 am of which 4,85,114 are active, 9,17,568 have been recovered, and 32,771 had died due to viral infection. In the last 24 hours, India has reported 49,931 fresh cases, 32,771 discharges, and 708 deaths.
