Ilaiyaraaja goes tough against Prasad studios, files complaint with Chennai police!

Well-renowned music director Illaiyaraaja has gone tough against the owner of the Prasad studio and filed a complaint against the latter by alleging that the musician's room in the studio was opened and his valuable materials in the studio including the musical instruments and handwritten musical notes were damaged or sold in the black market.

Illaiyaraaja has moved his complaint to the Chennai city police commissioner on Friday and the complaint was received by the Additional Commissioner of Police-south Dinakaran and he assured the necessary action.

According to the reports, in his complaint, Illaiyaraaja said that the founder of Prasad studios LV Prasad had given the lock and key for the recording room 1 - which is known as Illayaraaja Recording Theater, in 1977. In 2019, LV Prasad's grandson Sai Prasad took charge of the studio since the transition, Sai Prasad has menaced to cut off the water, electricity, and other facilities in the theater and he also threatened to abduct the property by damaging the musical instruments and other materials in the studio.

The reputed musician said that his personal room on the premises was broken and the materials were removed. He further stated that he came to know that Sai Prasad and his men have been removing, stealing and damaging the articles and materials which are worth many crores and they have been selling the materials in the illegal market for the huge amount and he appealed to the police to initiate necessary action against the act.

Illaiyaraaja further stated that he has moved his plea to the civil court in Chennai and it has been pending. The Additional Commissioner has received his complaint and asserted that the action will be taken. It must be recalled that in November 2019, the management of the Prasad studios had asked the musician to vacate the studio. The decision came a month after the musician accused the management of disrupting the composer's work in the premises.

After the management asked him to vacate, Illaiyaraaja's childhood friend and most admired director Bharathiraaja intervened and held a protest against the Prasad studios management and the director later said that they had requested the management to permit Illaiyaraaja to continue his work in the studio till he finds an alternative place.
