Senior BJP leader in Tamil Nadu H Raja, who was also the former national secretary of the party, has tossed up a challenge to DMK Minister Sekar Babu in connection to the encroachments. Known for his controversies, H Raja had on Sunday put out the challenge to Sekar Babu, who has been serving as the Tamil Nadu Minister of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments in the current DMK regime.
H Raja had participated as a Chief Guest for a speech competition that was held in Trichy on the occasion of Bharathiyar's centenary death anniversary on Sunday. While addressing the reporters, H Raja had attacked the DMK regime for its move of passing a bill seeking exemption for the NEET. He said that the bill doesn't hold any legal validity or right after the Supreme Court had already upheld the constitutional validity of the NEET.
Raja called the DMK government's move of passing the bill to repeal NEET has been against the national unity and the DMK and its alliance are responsible for the death of 20-year-old Dhanush, who committed suicide on Sunday over the fear of failing to clear the NEET exam. He said that the Madras High Court judges Mahalingam and Adhikesavan had on June this year given 75 orders to the state government with the deadline of implementing them in twelve weeks.
He cited that it's been 13 weeks since the orders were given and nothing was passed by the state government. Levying a challenge to Tamil Nadu Minister Sekar Babu, H Raja has said he had highlighted to the minister that there are 1 lakh acres of land encroached in the state temples for which Sekar Babu responded that the appropriate action will be taken if proper evidence is produced. H Raja has said that he will never speak about the Hindu religious department if Sekar Babu rescues the 177-acre encroached land, that belongs to Kasi Viswanathar temple, in Kancheepuram in 24 hours.
