US President Donald Trump, who was one of the global leaders to downplay the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, has been moved to the military hospital in Maryland for further treatments as he has been tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection along with his wife, First Lady Melania Trump.
The President and the First Lady have spelled positive for the pandemic on Friday, hours after one of Trump's closest aides Hope Hicks had confirmed to have contracted to the viral infection. Hicks had recently traveled with the President on the Air Force One to Cleveland for the first presidential debate and to Minnesota for the campaign event. Trump himself had divulged that he and the first lady had close contact with Hope Hicks.
After Hope Hicks had tested positive, the President and the First Lady had gone through the COVID-19 testing and their results had come positive. Trump took to Twitter and said, "Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!" In what has become a shocking development, Trump has tested positive for the pandemic at a high time when he has been caught up in the middle of campaigns for the Presidential election which is just a month away and Trump has strongly been hoping for his second term in office.

Hours after the development came, the President has been moved to Walter Reed Military Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. According to the White House, the 74-year-old President will be working from the presidential office and discharging his duties from the hospital for the next few days. The officials had then started the preparations and arrangements for taking the President out of the White House for a few days for his treatment for the pandemic.
Ahead of going to the Walter Reed Hospital, Trump released a short video-clip and said, "I want to thank everybody for the tremendous support. I am going to Walter Reed hospital. I think I'm doing very well but we're going to make sure that things work out". "The first lady is doing very well. So, thank you very much. I appreciate it. I will never forget it", the President added.

According to reports close to the developments, the President remains fatigued and he has been evaluated by a team of experts. First Lady Melania Trump took to Twitter and said, "Thank you for the love you are sending our way. I have mild symptoms but overall feeling good. I am looking forward to a speedy recovery". Following the development, Vice-President Mike Pence had also undergone COVID-19 testing and his results returned negative.
Mike Pence remains in a good health and he does not need to quarantine. President Donal Trump, who had downplayed the threat of the pandemic for many months, has become one of the global leaders to test positive as earlier, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro had tested positive for the pandemic. After the development has headlined, several leaders in the US including Trump's rival Joe Biden and Former President Barack Obama had wished him a speedy recovery.
After getting moved to Walter Reed, Trump took to Twitter and said, "Going well, I think! Thank you to all. LOVE!!! According to Fox News, Bill Stepien, who is President Trump's campaign manager, has tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection on Friday evening in the US time, after the President was moved to the hospital. Stepien has planned to quarantine until he recovers and to work from home.
Earlier, several White House staffers had tested positive for COVID-19 including the National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien and Katie Miller, the press secretary of Vice-President Mike Pence. Recently, the White House Deputy Press Secretary told that the President takes the health and safety of himself very seriously as he takes for everyone who works in support of him and the American people.
Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery. We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the president and his family.

Obviously, we’re in the midst of a big political battle right now, and while there’s a lot at stake, let’s remember that we’re all Americans. We’re all human beings. And we want everyone to be healthy, no matter our party.
