The composer, actor, and producer Vijay Antony has slammed a YouTube channel for spreading a false rumor that he was involved in the poor management of AR Rahman’s live concert, ‘Marakkuma Nenjam’, which took place on September 10th. The concert, which was supposed to be a musical extravaganza, turned out to be a disaster as many fans were unhappy with the lack of proper arrangements, security, and communication.
The YouTube channel claimed that Vijay Antony had a role in orchestrating the mishap and that he was also unhappy with AR Rahman’s decision to perform at the concert. Vijay Antony, who is also an actor and a music composer, took to his social media account to refute the allegations and express his disappointment.
He wrote in Tamil, “To my beloved people who love me. With sadness in my heart, I would like to put an end to some controversy with this letter. A sister has spread a false rumor in a YouTube channel associating me and brother AR Rahman. It is completely false!”
He also announced that he would file a defamation case against the YouTube channel and that he would donate all the money from the case to his friends in the music industry who are in need. “I am going to sue for damages against that YouTube channel. I have decided to give all the money from the defamation case in full to my friends in the music industry, who are in need,” he added.
The news of Vijay Antony’s reaction has gone viral on social media and many fans have expressed their support and admiration for him. They have also condemned the YouTube channel for spreading false rumors and tarnishing the reputation of both AR Rahman and Vijay Antony.
The concert ‘Marakkuma Nenjam’ was supposed to be a grand celebration of AR Rahman’s 30th year as well as his contribution to Indian cinema. However, it turned out to be a nightmare for many fans who were expecting a memorable show but instead faced chaos and disappointment.
