" I am a godless man, yet..." Kamal Hassan appreciates Rishab Shetty's Kantara

Rather than just being a success in India, Kantara is now a worldwide phenomenon, and Indians can be rightfully proud for the film which is now eligible for the Academy Award for Best Picture as well as the Best Actors Award. Kantara, written and directed by Rishab Shetty, manages to strike an emotional chord because of its fresh and original story.

Taking to Twitter Rishab Shetty wrote a gratitude letter which reads, "It means a lot to receive such a lovely message from Legend of Indian Cinema. Too overwhelmed and awestruck to see this surprise gift from Kamal sir. Thanks a ton for this precious gift Sir." he has penned.

Rishab Shetty displayed the letter of gratitude he received from Kamal Haasan in a frame and posted a photo of it. In his appreciation letter, Kamal Haasan mentioned, "A film like Kantara stays in your mind and blossoms. I am a godless man, yet I understand the need for one is most."

He added that there are many unspoken subtexts that even you may not have intended but will be discovered by other minds. That is how a work of art gains the status of a classic," Rishab Shetty, who also plays the lead role in the film, wrote and directed the action thriller in which he and Kishore play a Kambala champion and an upright DRFO officer, respectively.

The film was the second production for Vijay Kiragandur's Hombale Films; the first was the KGF series. Apart from the leads, the film cast includes Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda, and Pramod Shetty. Arvind S. Kashyap shot the film, B. Ajaneesh Loknath composed the score, and Vikram More was in charge of the action sequences. Dharani Gange Putra, oversaw production design. The movie was made with the budget of Rs 16 crores and it has so far earned Rs. 400 crores.
