'I am ending my ties': Suspended TN BJP leader Suriya Siva quits the party by leaving a big demand to Annamalai!

Days after being suspended from the party over the controversial audio gate, Tamil Nadu BJP leader Suriya Siva has on Tuesday - December 6 announced that he is ending his ties with the party. By sharing his decision to quit the party on social media, Suriya Siva left a big demand to Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai to replace the party's organizing secretary.

In what has become a political twist, Suriya Siva took the BJP leaders by surprise as his resignation has come when it was said that he has a full backing from Annamalai, despite being suspended from the party for six months. Suriya Siva is the son of DMK MP Trichy Siva and he joined the BJP earlier this year and he has been on spotlight for his contentious remarks.

Suriya Siva was serving as the chief of Tamil Nadu BJP unit's OBC wing and recently, an audio of his phone call with a BJP woman leader Daisy Saran has sparked a political storm. In the audio that swiftly went viral, Suriya Siva was heard using obscene and derogatory language against Daisy Saran, which displayed a furious political friction between both of them.

Suriya Siva went on to issue death threat to Daisy and intimidated that she would be brutally attacked by his men. The audio gate overtly put the party on a bad light and troubled the state unit to take action against Suriya. A demand to take action against Suriya has come from within the party as BJP leader Gayathri Raghuram urged the leadership to remove him from the party.

However, Annamalai has suspended Gayathri for six months from the party, which showed that Suriya Siva had a backing from Annamalai. As the audio gate has triggered a public outcry, Annamalai was pushed to investigate the matter. Based on the report from the party's disciplinary committee report, Annamalai suspended Suriya Siva for six months. Suriya's suspension was announced on November 22.

Though he was suspended, Suriya Siva's membership wasn't revoked and ahead of the suspension, Suriya Siva and Daisy Saran jointly addressed the press conference during which Suriya mentioned Daisy as his sister and that he was ready to accept the decision taken by the party's leadership on the matter. It was after this press conference that Suriya was suspended from the party.

Even after being suspended, Suriya Siva held a social media campaign in support of Annamalai where he staunchly slammed the Tamil Nadu ruling DMK government. Nearly two weeks after getting suspended, Suriya Siva on Tuesday announced that he is quitting the party and in his statement, he sparked a fresh political furore through his demand to Annamalai that Tamil Nadu BJP's organizing secretary Kesava Vinayagam must be replaced.

Taking to Twitter, Suriya Siva wrote, "My gratitude to brother Annamalai. The journey in the party was a pleasant experience. You (Annamalai) are the biggest asset to Tamil Nadu BJP. The BJP will definitely cross double digits in the upcoming elections. But if the party needs to achieve that, the party's organizing secretary Kesava Vinayagam must be replaced without which the BJP will remain how it was in the past. I am hereby ending my ties with BJP." The party's state unit hasn't officially commented about Suriya's exit and his demand to Annamalai.
