'Let's seed the love' - this was the message that went bold in Actor Surya's open letter of what he issued as his response over the recent controversy that swirled around his wife Jyothika. His response was penned days after Jyothika was criticized on her statement she made in an award function that held earlier this year.
Surya's response carried many ingredients of counter-attacking the critics and thanking the fans for their support. His response has come after what Jyothika spoke in the award function got watered as a controversy. In her speech, Jyothika has requested people to contribute and donate to schools and hospitals as like how they donate for temples.

She has aired the message after visiting the government hospital in Thanjavur district, which she claimed that the hospital was badly maintained. By comparing the maintenance of Brihadeeswara Temple to the pathetic state of the hospital, she appealed to people to make donations to uplift the standards of schools and hospitals in the way they donate to the temples. However, the clipping of her speech had occupied social media handles and caught up with controversies.
Since then, she has been criticized by the right-wing supporters who claimed that Jyothika has insulted Hinduism and temples and the topic went debatable amid the Coronavirus pandemic. Days after the eruption of controversy, Actor Surya has penned his response on Tuesday in which he reaffirmed that he stands by the statements of Jyothika. He opened his statements by stating that 'the wind doesn't leave the tree, even if it remains silent'.
By backing Jyothika, Surya said she appealed that the schools and hospitals must be given equal regard like how it has been given for temples. Some are considering the statement as an offense and the actor referred to Swami Vivekanandha and other spiritual gurus who reiterated the same opinion and people who less likely listen such thoughts will not know this. The Actor further pressed that humanity is above religion and he mentioned that " We would like to teach our children that humanity is important and beyond religion".
Through his statement, he also thanked the fans and people who have supported them as support and belief, received amid the Coronavirus outbreak, give them great joy. He indicated that people from all faiths believe God resides in schools and hospitals.
