How do I reply to a person who does not listen? Highlights of PM Modi's interview!

Ahead of the crucial assembly polls in five states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has swiftly drawn national attention through his interview in which he opened up about the polls and his confidence. In an exclusive interview with news agency ANI, Modi has attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by claiming that the latter does not listen and does not attend the house.

By citing that he welcomes debate in Parliament, the Prime Minister has said that he and his government do not attack anyone and believe in dialogue. He said, "I don't know the language to attack and it is not in my nature as well. But on the basis of logic and facts, the media might interpret my words in the House to stir some controversy." As the assembly polls are around the corner in five states, he has expressed his confidence that BJP will win in all five states.

He claimed, "BJP is always involved in serving people. When in power, we work with mantra of 'sabka saath, sabka vikas'. I can see a wave for BJP in all states. We'll win with an overwhelming majority & people in 5 states will give us an opportunity to serve them. Wherever BJP has been given the opportunity to work with stability, there you will find an atmosphere of pro-incumbency and not anti-incumbency. BJP always emerges into elections with pro-incumbency."

He further claimed that he believes in taking everyone along and following the mantra of Unity in Diversity. He said, "BJP began winning after losing again & again. When we win, we try to connect to grassroots&leave no stone unturned in winning hearts. We look for hope even in loss. For us, polls are like open universities with opportunities for new recruitments & to polish ourselves."

Responding to a question on BJP's fashion of not respecting the regional aspirations, he said, "We believe-for country's progress we've to address regional aspirations. I was a CM too,& understand states' aspirations. Earlier, leaders coming to India used to visit only Delhi, but I took them to different states."

"We believe in unity in diversity but some leaders followed ‘divide&rule’ policy…We identified over 100 aspirational districts in the country. Today, some of these districts have crossed the national average on many parameters. This is a way to address regional aspirations", he added. He further said, "PM says to ANI "We won in 2014. We were then voted (to power) in 2017 & 2019. So the old theory (a party not repeating its victory in consecutive polls in UP) has been rejected by UP. They accepted us in 2014, 2017 & 2019. They'll accept us in 2022 after seeing our work".

Attacking Congress, he said, "When a party is run for generations by a family, there's an only dynasty, not dynamics. Starting from J&K, where there're two parties run by two separate families, you can see a similar trend in Haryana, Jharkhand, UP &TN. Dynastic politics is the biggest enemy of democracy." He cited that Rahul Gandhi doesn't listen to anything and said, "How do I reply to the person who does not listen, skips Parliament."

On farmers' issue, he said, "I have come to win the hearts of farmers, & did so. I understand the pain of small farmers. I had said that farm laws were implemented for the benefit of farmers but were taken back in the national interest. " "Govt has no business to do business. Its job is to think about food for the poor, make houses & toilets for them, get them clean drinking water, make health facilities available to them, make roads, to think about the small farmers. This is my priority", he added.
