How Anbumani Ramadoss helped strengthening solidarity for Thol Thirumavalavan?

The apparent effort of PMK's Anbumani Ramadoss in turning the state against VCK's Thol. Thirumavalavan had flopped and it had eventually turned against him after thousands of people across the state had queued up to pour their solidarity for Thirumavalavan and reaffirming their support to him amid the latest war of words between the two parties over the double murder in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu.

The double murder in Ranipet had sent shockwaves across and beyond the states as the two Dalit young men were murdered by the members of the Vanniyar community. The incident had stirred massive outrage and protests with several opposition leaders demanding justice for the victims.

Thirumavalavan's VCK party has alleged that the murders were caused by political tensions and the party further said that members of the dominant community in the region were irked to see the campaigning done by two murdered men for the VCK candidate against the ADMK candidate in the state assembly polls.

The police had arrested six people so far and booked a case under the charges of murder and the police have also slapped the provisions of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989 on the accused as the victims were hailing from the SC community. However, PMK's Anbumani Ramadoss had said that the murder in Ranipet had happened because of a dispute between the friends and he denied the grounds of caste behind the murder.

Anbumani had also flayed Thirumalavan that he has lost faith in the educated youth in the state. In a 17 minute long video, Anbumani said that VCK Chief Thol Thirumavalavan will be able to do his politics only if he opposes PMK and the DMK has historically worked towards dividing the two communities -Dalits and Vanniyars because they can only perform politics in the divide. Anbumani went on to say that the educated youth of today have no faith in Thirumavalavan.

By citing that Thirumavalavan has been exposed among the Dalit youth, Anbumani said that the VCK Chief has been inciting the Dalit youth by saying they are being oppressed for a long time. Anbumani went on to say that Thirumavalavan has been using the youth for his own political ambitions. His video was shared widely across social media and while Anbumani thought that his drive of speaking against Thirumavalavan would go well, his video had eventually strengthened solidarity for Thirumavalavan with thousands of people marching to show their support.

Ever since Anbumani has released his video, Twitter has been stormed by the users who expressed their support for Thirumavalavan and they had posted their educational qualifications to show Anbumani that they had faith in the VCK's Chief. Twitter has been witnessing hashtags 'I stand with Thiruma' and 'My leader Thiruma' trending on the site. Several users including graduates and doctorates are affirming their support to Thirumavalavan.

After being poured with solidarity, Thirumavalavan took to Twitter and thanked all the educated people who extended support to him on social media. He wrote, "To differentiate people as educated and uneducated is the consequence of Sanatanist ideology. To use the word uneducated is an expression of arrogance. They are those denied the chance to be educated. That doesn't make them lowly." In another tweet, Thirumavalavan posted the portrait of Ambedkar and wrote, "I thank all the educated people who came out to extend massive support to me on social media through the #StandwithThiruma. The best education is one which equips people with humanity and equality. I thank all people who have such empathy and outlook for their encouragement."
