As India has been given with a global gavel of hosting the globally-powerful G20 Summit next year, the Union government has initiated the preparations to host the paramount event and with the view of discussing the plan and preparations with the political parties, the government has convened a meeting on Monday and it had the presence of several Chief Ministers and political leaders. 

The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has attended the meeting which was held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan where the leaders will discuss about the preparations and the centre has asked for the suggestions from the states and leaders to scale up the efforts for a collective host. 

It is the first time that India is hosting the G20 Summit and recently, the logo and theme - 'One Earth, One Family, One Future' were unveiled by the Prime Minister, who received the presidency from Indonesia, which hosted the current year's summit last month. India will host the summit in September 2023 and India's presidency began on December 1.

After attending the meeting on Monday in Delhi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has expressed confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would use this opportunity of hosting G20 Summit to promote the values of peace, non-violence, harmony, and equal justice all over the world. MK Stalin has further said that Tamil Nadu will provide its full support to the Union government to host the summit. 

In an official release, MK Stalin said, "I congratulate our Prime Minister Narendra Modi on India assuming the G20 Presidency for 2023. This is a matter of great pride to our country and we have a very important role to play in promoting international understanding." MK Stalin noted that India is keenly observed by, not just G20 countries, but all countries around the globe. 

"I strongly believe our Prime Minister will use this opportunity to promote the values of peace, non-violence, harmony, equality and equal justice all over the world. I assure that Tamil Nadu will extend its full support and cooperation in conducting the conferences to mark India's G20 Presidency", MK Stalin stated by adding, "We will show India's greatness to the world. I thank our Prime Minister on behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu for this opportunity."
