Happy Birthday Chiyaan Vikram: Thangalaan makers share the spellbound making video!

On the occasion of Chiyaan Vikram's 57th birthday, the makers of his upcoming film Thangalaan have surprised his fans with a special behind-the-scenes video that showcases the actor's dedication and transformation for the role. The video, which is nearly two minutes long, gives a sneak peek into the challenging and thrilling journey of making the film. 

Thangalaan, directed by Pa. Ranjith, is set against the backdrop of the 19th century and revolves around a tribal leader who fights against the British colonialism. The film features Chiyaan Vikram in a completely different avatar, sporting long hair, beard. The actor has also undergone a physical makeover, appearing in both a muscular and a lean look. 

The acclaimed filmmaker took to Twitter on Monday, shared the mind blowing making video by writing, “Happy birthday to my #Thangalaan, @chiyaan sir  Presenting you a slice of flesh, a grand making visual video of Thangalaan as our humble tribute to Chiyaan”.

The video reveals how Chiyaan Vikram endured hours of makeup, prosthetics and costumes to get into the character. It also shows some glimpses of the action sequences, sets and locations of the film. Fans are in awe lauding that the video is a tribute to the actor's passion and hard work for the film.

Thangalaan is one of the most anticipated films of this year and has captured a lot of attention owing to its gripping teaser that was released last year. The film also stars Kalidas Jayaram, Srinidhi Shetty, Prabhu and others in pivotal roles. 

The film is produced by K.E. Gnanavel Raja under Studio Green banner and has music by GV Prakash Kumar, and cinematography by Kishore Kumar. Thangalaan is slated to release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu languages. The release date of the film is yet to be announced. But the director recently confirmed that it will be debut in theatres by the end of this year.
