With the 2014 release of "Sadhuranga Vetai," H. Vinoth made his Kollywood directorial debut. In 2017, he collaborated with actor Karthi for "Theeran Adhigaram Ondru." which is a huge hit that became a favorite of Kollywood. He then directed "Nerkonda Parvai" and "Valimai" starring Thala Ajith. Now, his third movie with Ajith, "Thunivu," will be released on the upcoming Pongal holiday.
In a recent interview with a leading media house, H.Vinoth spoke about his intriguing next, where he shared about box office clash, and film's genre, he said, "Just like with Valimai, such speculations are the problems that we face. Just because we had put up a set of a bank, people have fixed its genre as a heist movie and an action thriller. This is actually a multi-genre film, and it cannot be slotted under one particular genre. In short, it’s a game of rogues."
Speaking about the most sensational topic of the clashing box office with Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu, he opened up, "Actually, such clashes between films should be encouraged, because filmmakers will then try to deliver a good film as they are pitted against another film. The numbers game is gone now. Just like how globalisation changed the automobile and IT industries, our film industry has undergone a transformation post pandemic-induced OTT consumption. Audiences have started to compare our films with global cinema,"
As a surprise, he revealed that he had just finished telling actor Yogi Babu a story in which Yogi Babu is the central protagonist, but he was unsure if that would be his next project. Furthermore, despite rumors that global hero Kamal Haasan would star in H. Vinod's film, no official information has been released about the project.
While Ajith plays the lead role in Thunivu, Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, and GM Sundar play important roles. Thunivu is bankrolled by Boney Kapoor under his banner 'Bayview Projects'. In addition to Supreme Sundar's stunt work and Vijay Velukutty's editing, Nirav Shah is in charge of the film's visuals.
