Grand wedding amid the lockdown- Here's how former CM tied with controversy!

While the governments have been rolling out stringent measures and restrictions in the form of complete lockdown to ensure that the people observe social distancing and refrain from large gatherings to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy had taken exception from the lockdown and organized his son's wedding on Friday in the farmhouse.

The attendees neither maintained social distancing nor worn the masks, both of which have been one of the advisories from the Central government. that had now let the former Chief Minister to caught up with controversy. The photos that aired from the wedding, in which Kumaraswamy's son Nikhil tied the knot with bride Revathi, stood opposite to the lockdown orders which banned the public gatherings and events to maintain social distancing. Revathi is the grand-niece of former Congress Minister Krishnappa.

Earlier, Kumaraswamy said that the wedding ceremony was planned at their home in Bengaluru and by citing that observing social distance would be a challenge in his residence, the venue was changed at Ramanagara. He claimed that the venue has been changed since Bengaluru city has been brought under the Red Zone category.

However, the reality had differed from what he had claimed as the ceremony and the gathering had given no place for social distancing. No attendees on the picture including Kumaraswamy and his father and former Indian Prime Minister Deva Gowda seen wearing masks. The media was not allowed to the ceremony as the leaders of Janata Dal (Secular) stated that the wedding would be of a low-key affair as the members from the two families would attend to limit the crowd.

In a video, Kumaraswamy said that the event would be attended by the family members of the two families with a minimum number of people and he asked the party workers and well-wishers not to attend the event. According to the reports, the complete lockdown restricts any kind of events, congregations, and funerals that would be attended by more than twenty people with the view of containing the spread of the pandemic.

Earlier on Thursday, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayan said that the action would be taken against Kumaraswamy if the guidelines found to have violated during his son's wedding.
