Google employee in Bangalore tests positive for Corona...Here's the update!

On Friday, the global software company Google has issued the confirmation that the company's employee in Bangalore has been tested positive for Coronavirus as the global pandemic has been rapidly spreading across the countries making India unexceptional and the current positive case put up the revelation that the epidemic has been spreading across India amid the precautions and preventive measures.

The US-based global tech giant has stated that one employee has been tested positive in one of the company's offices in Bangalore after he was diagnosed with positive symptoms and the employee has currently been quarantined to contain the spread and the company has directed the employees to work from home tomorrow with the view of disinfecting the office premises and the company has also advised the employees who came to the close contact with the affected employee to self-isolate themselves.

The company further asserted that it has taken and would be taking all the available and necessary measures and mechanisms to contain the spread with accord to the advice issued by the health department officials. The reports say that a few hours after arriving at the office, the employee was taken to the hospital after he said that he was feeling ill following which his samples were collected for further examinations. The results returned positive and after having the conformity, his family members in Mumbai and Bengaluru have been isolated.

According to the statement issued by Minister of Medical Education K Sudhakar, the affected employee was identified as 26-year-old and he had a travel history of visiting Greece. He has got married recently and had gone to Greece along with his wife for a holiday on February 23rd and the couple returned to Mumbai on March 6th after which the techie reached Bengaluru on March 8th while his wife went to her native place of Agra. The techie was working in Google's RMZ Infinity office and staying at the Old Airport Road in the city.

The state health department officials had traced the cab in which the techie traveled to his home from the airport and the cab driver and his family have now been kept under home quarantine and along with that, the health officials had a mammoth task of identifying everyone who came to the direct contact with the techie including the co-passengers who traveled with him. Adding to that, the Karnataka health department has shared the details with their counterparts in Agra and Mumbai.

Earlier, the Karnataka state government has confirmed with a positive case from Dell company as one of its employees who recently returned to Bangalore from Texas, the United States via Dubai had tested positive for the virus and his wife and daughter have also been identified to be positive for the virus making the family the first three cases in the city. Following that, one Mindtree employee who also arrived in the city from the United States was tested positive for the virus putting the total number of positive cases to four and after the techie in Google has tested positive, he has become the fifth case of the virus. 

On Thursday evening, India has reported with first death due to the virus. A 76-year-old man has died in Kalaburagi, Karnataka on March 9th. He arrived in Hyderabad on February 29th from Saudi Arabia and after suspecting with positive symptoms, he was taken to the hospital. However, he was declared dead and his samples were collected on March 10th after his demise. The samples were then dispatched to Bengaluru for testing. The results came on Thursday evening and it was confirmed that he had tested positive for the virus.
