Four hours of running and 1,010 laps: DMK MLA Subramanian sets a new record!

Former Mayor of Chennai and current DMK MLA M Subramanian has, for yet another time, proved why he has been prefixed as a 'marathon man' of the city by achieving the new record and new feat, despite the odds.

The legislator holds the testament that the age factor doesn't derive the success after he successfully entered into the Asia Book of Records by running for four continuous hours on his terrace on the signage of figure 'eight'. He boundaried in on the figure and touched the feat after running for four hours and eight minutes and he completed 1,010 laps which would cover up 30 kilometers.

According to the reports, he achieved the feat by running in front of three-night vision cameras set up the Asia Book of Records. He took to the terrace at 3.30 am on Thursday and warmed up for thirty minutes and at 4 am, he started running on the signage and successfully completed the task by 8 am, showing that nothing has stopped him.

Subramanian is a 61-year-old and he is currently the member of the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly, representing Saidapet constituency in Chennai. He was a former mayor of Chennai and he has been one of the leaders close to the DMK party's high command. For the past 25 years, he has diabetes. However, he stood away from the obstacle and achieved many recognitions on the track.

The reports stated that the legislator believes that the new feat of records would motivate the party members on staying positive through exercises during the period of lockdown and restrictions. According to the legislator, this is the second time that he has entered the Asia Book of Records and previously he was bestowed with the recognition when he successfully completed 75 full marathons, two years ago.

The current feat is not the final stop for the legislator and he hopes and targeted to complete 100 marathons, which would not be the tough task for this staunchest Marathon man, who equally balances his path of being a legislator and a campaigner for leading a healthy life.
