Former TN MLA has passed away at the age of 92: Leaders pay tribute!

Former Tamil Nadu MLA Ayyalusamy has passed away on Friday at the age of 92 at his residence in Thoothukudi district due to age-related ailments. 

A nonagenarian is a native of Perumalpatti near Kovilpatti in Thoothukudi district and he had served as the Member of Legislative Assembly from 1996 to 2001 and he won the elections from the ticket of Communist Party of India. He had represented Kovilpatti legislative constituency. 

He also had served as President of Perumalpatti village panchayat before getting elected to the legislative assembly. In his tenure as a politician, Ayyalusamy had served as the President of the state's farmers' association and held the post of district secretary of the Communist Party of India in Thoothukudi. 

During his tenure as a legislator and politician, he had earned a reputation across the state and among the party for his socio-welfare schemes. Ayyalusamy had been serving as the party's administrative committee member in Thoothukudi. He had developed age-related ailments and he was getting treated at his residence. 

He was confined to bed and home treatment for the past two years and amid the treatment, his health had deteriorated and he had breathed his last on Friday at the age of 92. The nonagenarian was surviving by two sons and a daughter as his wife had already passed away. 

After learning his demise, senior communist party leaders have been expressing their condolences to the deceased family. Tamil Nadu Minister Kadambur Raju, veteran communist leader Nallakannu, and state secretary of Communist party Mutharasan had paid their tribute to the deceased politician.
