In a shocking development, former DMK MLA Anbalagan has passed away on Friday at the age of 65 due to age-related ailments. He has breathed his last at a private hospital and the leaders of the party are paying tribute to the departed soul and expressing condolences to the family members.
Anbalagan has represented the Palani assembly constituency in Dindigul as DMK's MLA from 2006 to 2011 during DMK Patriarch Karunanidhi's reign as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Anbalagan was not active in politics for few years and recently, he had developed health discomforts and he was initially getting treated at a private hospital in Palani.
Recently, his oxygen level had dropped and he developed breathing difficulties. He was then shifted to a private hospital in Madurai for further treatments. His health had attained setback and amid the efforts to save him, his health had deteriorated and breathed his last in the morning hours of Friday at the age of 65.
Anbalagan was working as a Development Officer at the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) before becoming a politician. He then entered politics and served as a DMK MLA from 2006-2011. After learning his demise, several party leaders and functionaries have paid their tributes and expressed condolences to Anbalagan's family members.
