Foreign tour 2.0 - Will his turn earn the investments?

After the Chief minister of Tamil Nadu Edappadi Palaniswami had toured United Kingdom, United States and Arab Emirates during the first week of September 2019 with the view of webbing and attracting foreign investments to the state of Tamil Nadu to enhance its economic corridor, now its state Deputy chief minister's turn to take the skies for the second episode of the overseas tour.

It has been reported that Deputy Chief minister Pannerselvam has been scheduled to tour the United States as an official state visit for about ten days and he will be taking off from Chennai on November 8th along with the state's finance secretary and the delegation.

The reports say that he will be camped in the North American country as his single leg tour for the ten days where he will examine and understand about the existing functions and corridors of Housing and Urban development and the possibilities of carrying the technologies to the state of Tamil Nadu to upgrade the prevailing mechanisms. The reports had stated that during his week long tour, he will also take part in various events and meetings in the US city of Chicago.

The months of August and September had seen most of the state's cabinet ministers leaving the state for various nations with respective to their departments and the Chief minister and about four cabinet ministers had toured London as their first leg during the last week of August where they had tabled discussions with London's health experts towards enhancing the healthcare sectors in the state of Tamil Nadu in which one of the proposals was to flag the service of air ambulance and following their London tour, they had visited the states of New York and California in the United States as their second leg where they met with Indian American diaspora to attract more foreign investments to the state and signed MoUs with dozens of companies following which they visited United Arab Emirates as their final leg of the tour.

During the course of Chief ministerial visit, the state's school education minister had toured Finland while forest minister had visited Indonesia and labor minister had visited Russia. Deputy Chief minister Pannerselvam had remained in the state while the Chief minister led delegation embarked and disembarked planes in different nations. Upon concluding his maiden overseas tour, Chief minister Edappadi Palaniswami had stated that he will soon visit Israel to learn and to analyze about the water irrigation system.
