Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin is in the footsteps of the late DMK stalwart Kalaignar Karunanidhi when it comes to interacting with the ministers and the party leaders. Like his father, Stalin has been dialling the ministers early morning, which is becoming their wake up call, to discuss a range of issues. Recently, Stalin made such a call to senior minister EV Velu and took stock of a government project.

Velu has revealed in an event about MK Stalin's predawn phone call. Kalaignar Karunanidhi had a distinct trait, that he followed till his last, of speaking to the ministers and party leaders in the early morning about the issues that concerned them. Karunanidhi would wake up before sunrise and would read the newspapers. Had he found any piece of news that was concerned about the ministers and the party leaders, he would dial them immediately and would instruct them to resolve the issues. 

Under his leadership, every DMK cadre would know that if they receive an early morning call, it would be from Karunanidhi. He never lost this fashion of engagement, that is now being carried out by his son, Chief Minister MK Stalin. While addressing an event, Tamil Nadu Minister of Public Works and senior DMK leader EV Velu has said that he doesn't know when the Chief Minister is awake or he is taking a nap. He revealed Stalin's phone call regarding the project of constructing a public library. 

Velu said, "I don't know when our Chief Minister is awake or when is in sleep. One day, he called me at 2.15 am over the phone. After having a general discussion, he asked me about the work of building the Kalaignar Karunanidhi memorial library in Madurai. I told him that 30% of the work is completed and he further raised several questions regarding the project. I affirmed to him that we will complete the project as per the schedule."

He further added that the Chief Minister has also been dialling the ministers in the early morning to discuss the issues related to their departments. Kalaignar Karunanidhi is known for his restless works as the DMK President and as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. In line with his father, MK Stalin is now reaping the same culture and making early morning phone calls to the ministers that awaken them.
