For the first time in twenty years, popular Tamil actor Mahanadhi Shankar has joined hands with Ajith Kumar for the latter's upcoming movie, which has been tentatively named 'AK 61'. Ajith's project will mark the third consecutive reunion with director H Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor after 'Nerkonda Paarvai', and 'Valimai'.
However, it has been touted that AK 61 will be a different project compared with the earlier ones as in this movie, Ajith will be playing a negative role. The shooting has been taking place in Hyderabad and the movie team has been pacing up the works with an aim to get the movie to the theatres on the occasion of Diwali. The movie team has been unveiling the new entrants into the project.
In a huge surprise, Mahanadhi Shankar joins hands with Ajith. Interestingly, it is the first time that Shankar will be working with the stardom actor in two decades. Previously, they both had acted in the movie 'Dheena', which gave Ajith the codename 'Thala'. The reports in the know say that Shankar has been roped in to play a supporting role in the film.
AK 61 is bankrolled by Boney Kapoor and while Ajith plays the lead role, Manju Warrier, John Kokken, and Veera play important roles. It has been reported that over 30% of the film shooting has been completed. After a hiatus, Ajith will resume the shooting on May 25th and the movie team will be unveiling the entire crew in the coming days.
