"Jigarthanda DoubleX" is a period gangster drama that revolves around Pandiyan, a notorious gangster in Madurai with aspirations of becoming the first dark-skinned actor in Tamil cinema. The storyline takes an interesting turn as Pandiyan hires Ray Dasan, played by SJ Suryah, a former assistant director to Satyajit Ray, to direct a Clint Eastwood-style western film in Tamil Nadu titled "Pandyaa."
