Lately, discussions about flashbacks have been all the rage. Following the release of Vijay's film Leo, director Lokesh Kanagaraj raised eyebrows in an interview by suggesting that Vijay's flashback might be a clever fabrication. This sparked a frenzy of comments and discussions about flashback sequences. Capitalizing on this trend, the Muthu film team pleasantly surprised everyone by announcing a re-release. It seems like they're riding the wave of this popular topic.

The superhit 1995 movie ‘Muthu’, starring the superstar Rajinikanth, Meena, Sarathbabu and others, is all set to hit the screens again after 28 years. The film, directed by K.S. Ravikumar and produced by Kavitalaya Productions, features the music of the maestro A.R. Rahman. The film was a blockbuster at the box office and was also dubbed in Japanese, where it became a cult classic.

The production company of the film has announced this exciting update by taking to their X page and has revealed that the film will be re-released in November. The production home wrote, "Vandhutenu sollu. Na thirumbi vandhutenu sollu  Fan-fav Muthu is coming back this November. Stay tuned for updates on the re-release!".

It is noteworthy that December 12 is Rajini’s birthday, and this re-release could be a perfect gift for the fans. The film is expected to create a huge buzz among the audience, who are eager to watch Rajini’s charismatic performance and iconic dialogues on the big screen again.

Muthu marked the first time Rajini, Rahman, and KS Ravikumar collaborated together. The movie was loosely based on the 1994 Malayalam film Thenmavin Kombath. It was a huge success, becoming one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of its time and running for over 175 days in cinemas across Tamil Nadu. Additionally, it set a record in Japan by grossing over JPY 400 million (Rs 22 crore), making it the highest-earning Tamil film in the country.
