Exodus at Superstar's fan club: Why several Rajini fans have decided to join BJP?

Superstar Rajinikanth's outfit 'Rajini Makkal Mandram' has witnessed an exodus after hundreds of fans had exited the club and joined BJP on Wednesday- June 15 in the presence of Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai. The new entrants to the saffron camp have said that they decided to join BJP to follow spiritual politics.

The merger ceremony has held at an event in Thanjavur and Annamalai has welcomed them to the BJP. According to reports, the members of Rajini Makkal Mandram and as many as 14 unions have joined BJP on Wednesday in Thanjavur. The members were led by Rajini Ganesan, who was the president of Rajini Makkal Mandram in Thanjavur.

Speaking at the event after welcoming the new entrants, Annamalai said that the BJP has been practising spiritual politics, which was promoted by Superstar Rajinikanth. He said, "Spiritual politics is not against any religion, but a combination of Hindu, Muslim, and Christian religions and a national movement." Claiming the BJP as a democratic party, he avowed that each cadre in BJP is a leader.

Slamming the parties that act against the democracy, Annamalai said anyone can become an office-bearer in BJP, which is a democratic party. "But a few state parties, who propagate themselves as the following democracy, act against it. Those who joined now can get appropriate postings within ten years", he stated. Responding to the defamation charges that were filed against him, Annamalai said he was not scared of those charges.

"Defamation notices worth Rs 620 crore have been filed till now but I am not scared of these charges. BJP will never look back from charging about the mismanagement as we have been levelling charges with solid proof", he added. Annamalai has also levied several charges and allegations against the DMK government and said that the BJP will never withdraw these charges against the government.
