Exciting Story: Dhanush - Vetrimaaran's upcoming venture based on this premise!

The Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) near Bengaluru in Karnataka have been a source of inspiration for many filmmakers in recent times. After the blockbuster success of Yash’s KGF and KGF 2 directed by Prashanth Neel, and the upcoming Thangalaan by Pa. Ranjith starring Chiyaan Vikram, another ace director is set to explore the history and mystery of the gold mines.

Producer KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green has confirmed that Vetrimaaran, the national award winning filmmaker, is working on a movie based on KGF and it will star Dhanush in the lead role. In a recent interview with Behindwoods, Gnanavel revealed that Vetrimaaran is doing extensive research on the subject and will present his own version of the story.

“Vetrimaaran sir is now working on a film based on KGF with Dhanush in the lead. And he will do a film based on his research and findings about its history. And Pa Ranjith has done Thangalaan based on the research he did on the subject,” Gnanavel said.

This is not the first time that Vetrimaaran and Dhanush are collaborating for a movie. The duo have delivered four critically acclaimed and commercially successful movies so far, including Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai and Asuran. They are also expected to reunite for Vada Chennai 2, which is speculated to be the first installment of a trilogy.

However, Gnanavel did not reveal any details about the timeline or the budget of the movie on KGF. He also did not confirm whether he will be producing the movie or not. Nevertheless, this announcement has created a lot of buzz among the fans of both Vetrimaaran and Dhanush.

Vetrimaaran is currently busy with multiple projects in his kitty. He has recently released Viduthalai Part 1, which received positive reviews from the critics and audiences. He is also working on Viduthalai Part 2, which is expected to release soon. He has also committed Vaadi Vaasal with Tamil superstar Suriya, which is in the pre-production stage. There are also rumours that he has signed Telugu superstar Jr NTR for a movie, but there is no official confirmation yet.

Dhanush, on the other hand, is also juggling several movies at the moment. He is shooting for Captain Miller, directed by Arun Matheswaran. He also has D50 with his own directorial, and an untitled project with Mari Selvaraj in his pipeline.
