Ajith Kumar, known for his mass appeal, was last seen in Thunivu, which was released in January this year. The film, directed by H Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor, was a bank heist thriller that received warm reviews from critics but performed well at the box office in Tamil Nadu.
