A small poultry farm that belongs to Shihabudheen in Othukkungal, Malappuram in Kerala has presented the rare and unnatural phenomenon where the hens in his farm lay eggs with green-colored yolks leaving his family and the scientists with a complete baffle as the state veterinary and animal sciences university has launched a study to solve the mystery around these super hens.
The unusual and unseen content of the egg has been receiving huge attention so is Shihabudheen after the pictures of the egg with green yolk were shared on the social media platform making the phenomenon to become viral as the owner of the farm has got multiple calls from across the country with curiosity to know how his hens had introduced the replacement for the yellow yolks.
However, Shihabudheen and his family is also been baffled on the sudden change in the color of the yolk and amid the unclarity, his family has begun eating the eggs and claimed that the rare phenomenon didn't have a rare taste as these eggs are with the same taste as like the usual eggs.
According to the reports, Shihabudheen found the phenomenon before nine months after one of his hens had laid the egg with the green yolk and his family didn't wish to consume the egg at the initial stage without having surety that it would be safe and he decided to hatch some of the eggs laid by the hen and upon hatching, he found out that the new hens were laying the eggs with the green yolks.
After these eggs hatched chicken, the family started consuming it and he shared the pictures of the eggs with the rare phenomenon on the social media after which it got the limelight and people started puzzling over the unseen eggs and the possibility of consuming it. The reports stated that the experts from the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University had visited the farm a few days ago.
The experts have been conducting the research and laboratory tests to solve the reason behind this rare case and some of the scientists claim that the rare phenomenon could be because of the feed given to the hens and these hens could be given with some special feed which could be the sequel of laying green eggs. The reports further stated that the university would identify the reason in three more weeks.
Shihabudheen, however, stated that he has been giving the normal feed to the hens. The reports added that these eggs would be permitted for sales based on the findings of the research carried out by the state university.
