Amidst the heated accusations for implementing the board exams for the fifth and eighth-grade students of Tamil Nadu, the state directorate of Government Examinations has on Thursday released the time table for the board exams for the students who are yet to attain the higher secondary education level.
As per the time table, the board exams for class VIII will be scheduled to held from March 30th to April 17th, 2020 and the students will be provided with two hours as exam duration and they will be granted with additional fifteen minutes to read the question paper and to fill the basic details. The students of class V in the state will be going through the board exam from April 15th to April 20th, 2020 with the same exam duration.
It has been reported that the students of class VIII will have to appear for five subjects whereas Class V students would be writing three subjects - Tamil, English, and Maths. The reports have stated that both the exams will be conducted for 60 marks and the question papers will carry the questions from all the three terms of the academic year.
Earlier, the government has announced that the students will not be failed based on these exams for the first three years and the officials of the school education department have cited that the questions for class V students would be testing the basic skills like reading, writing, and mathematical ability whereas class VIII students will be answering the questions that will test the ability to understand the concepts.
