Droupadi Murmu is all set to visit Tamil Nadu for the first time after becoming the 15th President of India in July 2022. In what would be an one-day trip to the state, Murmu will be visiting Madurai and Coimbatore.
President Murmu will arrive in Madurai from Delhi on February 18 and she will be visiting the iconic Meenakshi Amman Temple on the occasion of Mahashivratri. It has been reported that she would be arriving at the temple at 12 pm on February 18.
After offering prayers at Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple, she would be emplaning to Coimbatore during the same day. In Coimbatore, President Murmu will be attending the Mahashivratri event that will be organized at Isha Yoga Centre. The reports say that she will be gracing the Mahashivratri event for a few hours.
She won't be staying in the state overnight and would leave to Delhi from Coimbatore during the night hours of February 18. As Murmu is visiting Tamil Nadu, the security arrangements are getting beefed up at her stopovers in Madurai and Coimbatore. It must be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple in 2021.
