For prominent filmmaker Pa Ranjith, who directed Superstar Rajinikanth twice, working with Suriya has always been on hold and he apparently expressed his mind about working with Suriya. Now, Ranjith has a sight of joining hands with Suriya through his dream project. As he is crafting the project, he wishes that Suriya would take the lead role to make it complete.
Pa Ranjith has been an excelling director in Kollywood and his bold societal dramas like Madras, Kabali, Kaala, and Sarpatta Parambarai define his courage to speak his mind to the masses. Ranjith awaits the release of his next movie 'Natchathiram Nagargirathu' which will hit the theatres on August 31. Recently, Ranjith interacted with a Tamil television channel during which he opened up about his dream project with Suriya.
Ranjith has planned to direct a magnum opus movie, that is tentatively named 'German', with the national award-winning actor. Working with Suriya has never happened for Ranjith and he expressed that his plans with Suriya have always been on hold. Sarpatta Parambarai was Ranjith -Suriya project but the former has finished it with Arya playing the lead role. As the Ranjith-Suriya combo can't be missed this time, it would serve the best treat for Tamil fans.
In the interview, Ranjith further said that most of the movies he had done are influenced by popular English movies like 'Mad Max Fury', 'Bladerunner', and 'Dune' which are his favourites. He revealed that German is his dream project, adding that it will be in a different dimension from his previous movies which carried the elements of socio-politics.
Ranjith has affirmed that he will work on the German project in the future and said that the movie will be set during a war, which will be intriguing to the viewers. On the other hand, Suriya is at the peak of Tamil cinema as his two consecutive movies Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim have garnered international attention. As director Bala's Vanangaan waits to see what more magic he has in store, Suriya has signed on for a blockbuster with Siruthai Siva.
In the lineup is the Vaadivasal movie in which Vetrimaaran directs Suriya for the first time. Vaadivasal's glimpse was recently released and the shooting will go into full pace after Suriya completes his 42nd movie. It has been reported that Vaadivasal is getting delayed as director Vetrimaaran is making it in two parts. More in Suriya's store is Lokesh Kanagaraj's plan to direct Suriya for the movie 'Irumbu Kai Maayavi'. Suriya was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj's blockbuster movie 'Vikram' in which he played the riveting role of 'Rolex'.
