Does Tamil Nadu circulates counterfeit currency notes?

The state police of Tamil Nadu had detained a 28 year old man, native of Arunachal Pradesh under the grounds of attempting to circulate bogus currency notes in Tamil Nadu's Tirupur district.

After arresting the suspect, the police had identified the accused as Samir Kandi Chakma of Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh who has been working in knitwear unit in Tirupur. It has been reported that on Friday night, he had visited the shop which transfers the money digitally to transfer Rs 14,000 to a person in Arunachal Pradesh for which he had paid seven Rs 2000 currency notes to the shop proprietor.

After acknowledging the money, the shop keeper had found out that he had been allegedly given with counterfeit currency notes following which he had notified the local police department.

Rushing to the spot, the police department had detained and booked the suspect under the grounds of cheating and possession of forged and counterfeit currency notes. Further to the investigations, the police team had revealed that Samir had allegedly taken photo copies of the original currency notes.
