Fathima's sister Aysha has said that the family was called on the police to visit the police station where they had the phone which was in switched off mode and cited that she saw the note on the phone's screensaver after unlocking the screen.

He added that her phone went switched off from the next day after which Fathima's mother had reached out to the student staying in a nearby room to speak with her daughter. After that, the students in the hostel haven't responded to the calls from her mother following which she contacted the hostel warden who left us in shock after informing that Fathima had hanged herself to death. He claimed that Mayor of Kollam Rajendra Babu, who is in the rank of Deputy Speaker, visited the police station and he blamed the police department for the inaction despite the Mayor visited the station.
