Amid being under the COVID-19 treatment after testing positive for the viral infection, Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan has released a video message as the prospect of thanking the doctors and nurses who have been on the front foot in fighting against the global pandemic.
In the video that has been going viral over social media platforms, the senior thespian thanked doctors, nurses, and other medical staff at Nanavati Hospital and across the country and called them as the incarnation of God. The senior Bachchan further appealed to the Indian citizens to remain calm and not to get panic when the country is going through tough times triggered by the outbreak.
By citing that people are living in fear and panic, the megastar said "Remember, we are all in this together and will fight this together". By quoting the video he recently saw of hoarding which read the temples are shut because gods are wearing white coats and working in hospitals, Amitabh Bachchan has extended his thanks and gratitude to the doctors and nurses for saving humanity from the deadliest viral infection.
His video has come after he was tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, which combinedly shocked the film industries and his fans. Senior Bachchan has taken to Twitter and said he has tested positive and getting treated at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai and he further requested all those who came in close proximity with him in the last ten days to get themselves tested and he also said his family members and staff are getting tested.
Hours after the senior Bachchan tested positive, his son and actor Abhishek Bachchan revealed that he also has tested positive for the virus following his father. Junior Bachchan said both of them had developed mild symptoms and admitted to the hospital. He further appealed to people to stay calm and not to get panic.
According to the reports, the family members of the Bachchans went COVID-19 testing and the COVID-19 antigen test reports of Jaya Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Abhishek's daughter Aaradhya returned negative while the results of the swab tests are still awaited. Since the developments emerged, political leaders, celebrities, and well-wishers have been extending their prayers and wishes to the Bachchans for a speedy recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that Amitabh Bachchan is doing stable.
