Do Rishi Sunak and Ashish Nehra look identical? Here's how Tweeple drew hilarious comparison!

42-year-old Rishi Sunak has become the British Prime Minister and in him, the Britons see many firsts including the youngest to take over the helm in the UK's history, the first British Indian and first Asian to become the Prime Minister. Back in India, a sea of people wish him for ruling the country that once ruled India and interestingly, several social media users in the country have drawn hilarious comparisons as in Rishi Sunak, they see a lot of similarities with former Indian cricketer Ashish Nehra.

The comparisons indeed gone viral and their comments were humorous in a fashion that both of them would accept. Sharing collages of both Sunak and Nehra, the Tweeple pointed out the similarities and resemblance with several users went on to congratulate Nehra for becoming the British Prime Minister. The tweets were turning heads across and beyond the borders and we bet that you can't get past such tweets without leaving a smile.

In his tweet, a user - Kaustav Dasgupta wrote, "Well done Ashish Nehra on becoming the next UK Prime Minister. Bring 'IT' home." He left a hashtag referring the Kohinoor Diamond that the British rulers said to have taken from India. The Kohinoor is a 105.6-carat diamond steeped in history. The diamond was found in India in the 14th century and changed many hands over centuries. The diamond was possessed by Queen Victoria and since then, it has been a part of the British Crown jewels.

Another user wrote, "Rishi Sunak and Ashish Nehra seem to be brothers who were estranged in Kumbh Ka Mela." Hilariously, another Twitter user wrote, "Congratulations! Ashish Nehra. Man! What a journey its been...From taking down six wickets in 2003 cricket world cup against England to becoming PM of UK." Sharing a picture of Modi standing a leader whose face was morphed with Nehra's, a user wrote, "PM Modi and PM Rishi Sunak discussing how to get Kohinoor back to India."

Indian industrialist Harsh Goenka put out the steps to recover the Kohinoor diamond. Taking to Twitter, Goenka wrote, "My friend's idea to get back Kohinoor: 1) Invite Rishi Sunak to India, 2) Kidnap him when he is stuck in Bangalore traffic to visit his in-laws, 3) Send instead Ashish Nehra as UK PM. No one will realise it. 4) Nehra will be told to pass the bill to return Kohinoor."

Rishi Sunak has on Tuesday officially become the Prime Minister of the UK after meeting King Charles III. He succeeded Liz Truss, who stepped down in six weeks, becoming the shortest-serving Prime Minister in the UK's history. He has now taken up a humongous task in fixing the economic crisis and addressing the beleaguered administration. He promised to deliver the promises and uniting the party and the country.

Rishi Sunak is married to Akshata Murthy, the daughter of Infosys founder Narayana Murthy. The couple tied the knot over a decade ago in Bangalore. Sunak was born in the UK to Indian descendants who have their root in Punjab. As an alumnus of top global institutions including Oxford University and Stanford University, Sunak has a rich experience in economics and before becoming the Prime Minister, Sunak served as the finance minister of the UK.
