Days after the Tamil Nadu state opposition party was the accused of supporting the anti-Hindu outfits, DMK's President MK Stalin has said that the party is not anti-Hindu and alleged that few groups are reportedly trying to brand the Dravidian party as the anti-Hindu party.
In his letter addressed to the party members on Monday, MK Stalin said that few groups are using social media platforms to campaign people that the DMK party is supporting the anti-Hindu outfits and claimed that this move has been initiated against the party to divert the people from the real issue and to restrict the party from winning the upcoming state legislative elections in 2021.
Stalin further stated that the groups have been changing the direction of discussing the real issue, which is the failure of implementing reservation for backward caste people. The opposition leader added that the DMK party has won the 2019 Lok Sabha and rural local body elections in the state. By citing that people are hoping that DMK will win in next year's assembly polls, Stalin vowed that the party will come to power by practicing democracy.
His statement has come when the party has been accused of supporting 'Karuppar Kuttam', a Youtube channel that recently caught with controversy and outrage from the Hindu groups after making derogatory statements against 'Kanda Shashti Kavacham', a Hindu devotional song. Earlier, some of the senior DMK leaders had also asserted that the party is not anti-Hindu.
On Monday, MK Stalin has condemned the ruling government and the Chief Minister for concealing the fact that the Coronavirus pandemic has got the grounds of community transmission in Tamil Nadu.
