DMK man's birthday feast amid lockdown, Corona became uninvited guest as he tested positive!

The birthday feast of DMK party member in Thiruvallur district amid the lockdown has called Coronavirus as an uninvited guest after he was tested positive for COVID-19 along with two other guests who attended the party, leaving the district administration to book a case under legal grounds for violating the lockdown.

According to the reports, the DMK member was identified as 48-year-old Gunasekaran and he is the state general body member of the party. While the lockdown has strictly barred the gathering of people, the party man has taken a break from the restrictions and organized his birthday feast on June 14 at his mango orchard in Kannambakkam in the district.

Amid the lockdown, his birthday party had seen the presence of 150 guests along with Gunasekaran's wife who, according to the police, is vice-chairman of Gummidipoondi Union. The celebration was shot in a video in which most of the guests were seen without masks. The guests were enjoying the celebrations by leaving the social distancing norms to air.

The next day after the party, four people who attended the party including host Gunasekaran had developed symptoms following which they had undergone COVID-19 testing. Shockingly, all four of them had tested positive for the virus and they have been admitted to Thiruvallur Government Hospital.

Burdened with more challenges of tracing everyone who attended the party, the police department hunted for people who attended the party through the video shot at the venue. The reports stated that they had identified 60 persons and the health officials have been testing them and they have been kept under home quarantine.

The police department had seized four cases and nine motorbikes from people who were part of the birthday celebrations. For conducting the party by violating the lockdown, the DMK member has been booked under sections 269 - negligent act likely to spread infection of the disease, 188 - disobedience to the order of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act and Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act.
