Amid being packed with internal furor and external allegations and challenges ahead of the crucial assembly polls, the Tamil Nadu ruling ADMK has now been shocked with the bombshell that was thrown by VK Sasikala's brother against the party after he claimed that DMK has high possibilities of taking over the reign in the upcoming legislative elections.
VK Sasikala has been on the political debate as she has been progressing towards the release in parallel when the ADMK has been progressing towards the assembly polls with the hope to retain the reign for the third consecutive term. The upcoming state election would be the first legislative election for Edappadi Palaniswami as the Chief Minister and for the state since the demise of two political giants Karunanidhi and Jayalalithaa.
As Edappadi Palaniswami has been chalking out the strategies to take over his rival DMK and its allied parties, he also has been bracing up the new challenges and troubles from both internal and external arenas. While he has won one of the intra-party challenges of becoming the CM candidate, he has been pushed to face more troubles in keeping the party under his power amid multiple power centers and one of the huge challenges for him is to ensure that the party won't collapse after the release of Sasikala.
Sasikala, the closest aide of Jayalalithaa, has been serving a four-year prison sentence in the Bangalore Central Prison since 2017 and she has been scheduled to get released from the prison in late January or early February next year, which would be at least two months ahead of the assembly polls. As ADMK is expecting her release, Sasikala's brother Dhivakaran has now sent an unexpected shock to the ADMK.
Dhivakaran has been rebelling against the ruling ADMK since Sasikala was expelled from the party and Dhivakaran went on to launch a new political outfit against the ADMK under the name of Amma Dravidar Kazhagam. He has been serving as the General Secretary of the outfit and recently he had voiced against the ruling party by claiming that the DMK has bright possibilities to win the assembly polls.
Dhivakaran had participated in the wedding ceremony of the party leader's family member during which he addressed the reporters and said that the Tamil Nadu state government has failed to act effectively in the educational sector during the COVID-19 period and the government should have reopened the schools and educational institutions after obtaining advice from the experts and educationalists.
However, the government had failed, and speaking about his recent remarks in favor of DMK President MK Stalin, Dhivakaran said that it's his habit that he will appreciate those who do good for people and likewise, he had appreciated the DMK President. Stalin is acting effectively and Dhivakaran maintained that he will forever remain what he is now. He stated that the ruling leaders had played hide and seek with Sasikala and his sister has been serving the prison sentence for what these leaders had done.
ADMK's rule was saved by the efforts of his sister VK Sasikala, Dhivakaran added and he stated that Sasikala's next action will be known only after she gets released from the prison. The special probing team that has been investigating the death of Jayalalithaa is at the final stage and the commission needs to conduct an inquiry with Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister Panneerselvam.
Speaking about VCK Chief Thirumavalavan's remarks about Manu Dharma, which was staunchly attacked by the BJP, Dhivakaran said Thirumavalavan is a leader who respects women and nowhere he had demeaned and derogated women and he spoke about what was in Manu Dharma and Dhivakaran furnished his prediction for the next assembly polls and said that DMK has high possibilities of winning the election based on the current situation.
